Angelo Palacios-Rebaza was driving a Nissan Altima on westbound Rt. 46 around 11:30 a.m. when the car left the roadway and flipped, coming to rest right-side up near the Horseneck Road overpass.
Palacios-Rebazo had to be extricated from the car and was treated for arm and facial injuries at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson. The highway was down to one lane for about 90 minutes during the extrication, police said.
Four witnesses told investigators Palacios-Rebazo was driving “aggressively”, with several lane changes and well above the 50 mph speed limit, police also said. He also had a small amount of marijuana and a vape pipe in a satchel around his neck at the time of the crash.
The accident is under investigation.
